Witnesses and official sources said the first explosion occurred in Makin area where two militants attempted to plant a mine on the road used by the military convoys. They, however, fled the scene when fumbled with the explosive device and it went off.

The explosion occurred shortly before a military convoy was expected to pass through the area, the sources said. The second explosion occurred near Sam when a military convoy was on its way to Asman Mianza between Luddha and Kanigoram. No casualty was reported from the landmine explosion.

Witnesses said that three civilians, including a ten-year-old boy, were wounded when the troops retaliated and fired in the area. The third explosion occurred near Wana Scouts camp at around 2.00 pm when a military convoy was moving towards Luddha. One vehicle was slightly damaged.
