HYDERABAD, Nov 5: A meeting to review progress of development schemes in the district, held at the DCO house here on Friday, decided to extend the Thandi Sarak up to the gymkhana.

The meeting was presided over by District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzman and attended by DCO Mohammad Hussain Syed, EDO of works Habibur Rehman, EDO of finance Sikandar Shah, Director-General of the Hyderabad Development Authority Tahir Ahmed and others.

The meeting decided to install traffic signs and reflectors on both sides of Thandi Sarak. The HDA head was instructed to complete the work on the Pathan Colony drain as soon as possible as accumulation of drain water in the area was creating a host of problems for the residents.

Speaking on the occasion, the nazim regretted what he called indifferent attitude of the Hyderabad Cantonment Board towards the destruction of Makki Shah Road and collapse of sewerage system.

He, however, announced that the district government would complete the project and he would inaugurate the construction of the road and drain on November 22. He directed the HDA to complete formalities in this regard before November 22. The meeting also reviewed progress of work on the main Wadhu Wah road and decided to construct the Bhitai hospital road and Latifabad-12 road.
