SUKKUR, May 25: A businessman, Sakhawat Rai, who was kidnapped by a gang of dacoits from Tangwani about one-and-a-half month back, was released on Saturday morning.

Some influential landlords of Sindh and Balochistan are said to have played a key role to secure his release apparently on payment of a handsome amount as ransom to the gangsters.

CLASH: At least eight tribesmen sustained serious injuries in a free-for-all in village Abdul Rahim Mirbahar, near Ghotki on Saturday.

Firearms, daggers and sticks were freely used in the clash over the sharing in canal water. Both the sides belonged to Mirbahar tribe.

About 15 persons from both the sides were arrested.
