PESHWAR, Oct 22: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) government has dispelled an impression that there are differences within the MMA regarding the NWFP chief minister attending the National Security Council meeting.

According to a handout issued here on Friday, no such differences ever emerged in the MMA government. The opinions of a few persons could not be taken to create such differences in the government, the handout said.

The official statement said that the supreme council of the MMA was the main decision-making body of the alliance where all central leaders took decisions after consultations.

The decisions taken by the council serve as the guidelines for the leadership to follow at the provincial and central level. The executive council of the MMA or the JUI(F) provincial chapter has made some proposals regarding the NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani's attending the meeting of the National Security Council.

Those recommendations are to be sent to the central supreme council for consideration and whatever decision is taken after consultation will be acceptable to the central and provincial leadership.

The statement said that recommendations of the MMA's provincial chapter (NWFP) were mistakenly taken by some circles as the final decision of the MMA on the issue which created the impression that there were differences within the MMA regarding attending of the NSC meeting by the NWFP chief minister.
