FAISALABAD, Oct 22: Two masked men snatched Rs2.5 million in cash from an employee of a real estate dealer near Gujjar Basti here on Friday. Reports said that Sajid Ali, employee of Abdul Khalid, was intercepted by two masked bandits when he was on his way after drawing cash from a bank.

The outlaws snatched the bag containing the huge amount at gunpoint from Sajid Ali and escaped from the scene. Receiving information, the police hastened to the spot and encircled the whole area. However, no clue to the bandits has so far been found.

ARRESTED: The local police on Friday arrested three brothers from Nighehbanpura for keeping illegally a huge quantity of weapons at a deserted shop. The police claimed that the weapons recovered from the Kutchery Bazaar shop was to sell to some unauthorized persons.

They said the raid was conducted by the City ASP along with heavy continents of Kotwali and Sargodha Road police and Elite Force and recovered 350 repeater guns, 350 pistols and 60,000 bullets from the shop.

Initial investigation revealed that the weapon consignment was kept by three brothers - Rauf, Farooq and Israr of Nighehbanpura. All the three brothers were arrested from their house after a raid.

A case has also been registered against them under section 14/20/65. It may be mentioned that Arms Market office-bearers had claimed that Khalid Bashir, a license holder to sell and purchase the arms, had brought this consignment after fulfilling all legal requirements and it was locked in the shop in the presence of a judicial magistrate.

They further claimed that Khalid Bashir had kept the consignment in the deserted shop adjacent to his own due to the paucity of space. They also declared the raid as illegal.
