DERA ISMAIL KHAN, May 25: Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (SA) was celebrated here on Saturday with religious fervour, enthusiasm and solemnity despite a very hot day.

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for the welfare and unity of Ummah, and progress and prosperity of the country. The whole city in general and procession routes in particular were decorated with colourful flags, banners and bunting.

The main congregation, comprising people from every walk of life, was taken out from Haq Nawaz Park which marched through Dr Abdul Qadeer Chowk, Topanwala Bazaar, Rahim Bazaar, Bazaar Kalan, Muslim Bazaar and ended at Chowk Hafiz Jamal.

Another big procession was taken out from Town Hall which after marching on South and East circular roads, terminated at the Liaqat Park.

The speakers highlighted the importance of the day, paid rich tributes to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his fellows and stressed the need for the unity of Ummah and the nation. —Correspondent
