KABUL, Oct 13: Eight people were rescued Wednesday after they were stranded in a remote area of Afghanistan overnight after their United Nations helicopter developed engine trouble and made an emergency landing while on a trip to pick up ballot boxes, a UN spokesman said.
"This afternoon a UN helicopter which left Kabul this morning landed in Faizabad with all the eight individuals who were in the helicopter that had an emergency landing yesterday," the spokesman told a news conference. -AFP
