ISLAMABAD, May 25: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has issued a list of 102 former parliamentarians against whom arrest warrants have been issued for non-payment of outstanding dues of Parliament Lodges and government hostels.

Out of the total number, 80 are former members of National Assembly (MNAs) and 22 are former senators. The total outstanding amount is to the tune of Rs5.2 million.

The arrest warrants were issued by the CDA senior special magistrate, Arshad Mehmood Chaudhry, under Land Revenue Act 1967, that empowered the authority to confiscate defaulters’ properties.

“We have issued arrest warrants and orders to confiscate their immovable property to recover the arrears,” the magistrate told Dawn.
