KARACHI, Oct 12: Seventy new large buses have been added to the existing fleet raising their total number to more than 300 under the Urban Transport Scheme. This was announced by City Nazim Naimatullah Khan at Expo Centre at an impressive ceremony on Tuesday night.
These buses had been brought by six private companies - Trans Livea, Hilton Trans, Altaf Shahrukh, Neelam Corporation, Airport Limousine Service, and the QFS - who would operate bus service on six different routes.
A bus service would be launched on UTS Route No.7 from Malir Cantonment to Clifton via Sharea Faisal, JPMC, cantonment railway station, and Schon Circle. Another company will ply buses on UTS Route No.10 i.e. from Korangi to Baldia Town via Landhi, Quaidabad, Sharea Faisal, Drive-in Cinema, Civic Centre, Habib Bank Chowrangi, and RCD Highway.
The UTS Route No.11 bus service will be operated from Khokhrapar to Hawkesbay via Sharea Faisal, Karsaz, Civic Centre, Habib Bank, State Avenue, and Gulbai. The UTS Route No.18 bus will be plied between Landhi and Gulbai via Sharea Faisal, Drive-in Cinema, Stadium Road, and State Avenue.
On UTS Route No.21, buses service will be operated from Surjani Town to Seaview Clifton via North Karachi, Nai Abadi, Ajmer Nagri, Bara Dari, UP Mor, Nagan Chowrangi, Sakhi Hasan, Hyderi, Board Office, Petrol Pump, Gulbahar, Lasbella, Guru Mandir, Quaid's mausoleum, Saddar, JPMC, cantonment station, Teen Talwar, and Abdullah Shah Ghazi shrine.
Another company will operate bus service from Korangi to Orangi via Korangi Crossing, Hino Chowrangi, Akhtar Colony, FTC, Nursery, Shahrah-i-Quaideen, Khalid Bin Waleed Road, Jail Chowrangi, Stadium Road, Civic Centre, Liaquatabad No.10, Petrol Pump Nazimabad, Habib Bank, Banaras, and Qasba More.
