PESHAWAR, Oct 6: Employees of mobile hospitals of the directorate of health, Fata, have expressed concern over non-payment of salaries and have urged NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah to intervene in the matter.

Talking to Dawn here on Wednesday, several employees, including engineers, dispensers, technicians, nurses, drivers and class IV staff, claimed that they had not received salaries for the last three months despite doing hard and tiring duty in different parts of Fata.

They said that non-payment of salaries had adversely been affecting them, as they had no other means of income. They said that about 65 people had been running from pillar to post to get their salaries, but to no avail.

The said they had been visiting different parts of Fata with costly mobile hospitals, fitted with operation theatres, X-ray plants, dental units and laboratory facilities, to provide treatment to tribesmen in the far-flung areas. This was part of their job, but those responsible to arrange for their salaries were not doing their party of duty.
