ISLAMABAD, Sept 30: Shab-i-Barat, the night of reverence and devotion, was observed all over the country on Thursday with great religious zeal.

The faithful offered special prayers to seek forgiveness for their sins and invoke the blessings of Allah Almighty for this world and hereafter.

'Mehfils' for recitations from the Holy Quran and 'Naat Khawani' were held in almost all mosques in the country. Religious scholars and Ulema highlighted the significance of the holy night.

They said that prayers during the night were of great value for the Muslims to renew their pledge to lead their lives in accordance with the injunctions of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. People visited graveyards early in the morning to pray for the souls of their near and dear ones. -APP
