President meets Dutch Queen

THE HAGUE, Sept 27: President Gen Pervez Musharraf had an audience with Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands in her palace in the Hague on Monday and discussed a range of issues of mutual interest.

The president and Queen Beatrix had an exclusive meeting that lasted for about half an hour. The two discussed bilateral relations and other regional and global issues.

Earlier, on arrival the president and the First Lady Begum Sehba Musharraf were greeted at the palace by the Queen. The anthems of the two countries were played. The president inspected the guard of honour.

After a colourful welcoming ceremony, the Queen introduced the members of the Royal household to the president and the First Lady. The president also introduced members of his delegation to the Queen. -APP
