Angry mob blocks Quetta road

QUETTA, Sept 26: An angry mob blocked Sabzal Road on Sunday accusing police of extra-judicial killing of Abdul Karim whereas police claimed that the man was killed in exchange of fire for attacking the law enforcement agency in the Saturday incident that also claimed the lives of three policemen.

On late Saturday night also the protesters staged demonstration in front of Saddar police station and the father of Abdul Karim, his family members besides hundreds of relatives and sympathizers demanded registration of an FIR against the police officials who were allegedly involved in the killing of Mr Karim.

Abdul Ghaffar, the father of the deceased, claimed that his son was innocent saying a DSP and two police men came inside their house and took his son out to a street where he was shot dead. A case, he added, be filed against the DSP and two policemen for extra-judicial killing.

Initially, the protesters were not willing to take away the body from Saddar police station until the FIR was registered. However, on pursuance of the police officials the protesters dispersed and took away the body.

This morning at about 11am the angry mob blocked the Sabzal Road at the corner of Samungali Road for some time and the body was kept in the middle of the road demanding registration of the case and arrest of the policemen. They later dispersed peacefully.
