ITF Juniors qualifying round today

KARACHI, Sept 24: Of the 13 boy entrants who were to report to the Karachi Club to sign in for the ITF Juniors World ranking tennis championship, 12 turned up on Friday where four players will qualify for the main draw.

In the meantime some boys and girls arrived from India to participate in this tournament along with a young Canadian and were seen practicing on the courts.

The qualifying rounds will commence on Saturday from 3.00p.m. onwards. The rest of the foreign players are expected to arrive in the city on Saturday.

TODAY'S SCHEDULE: Jahangir Rashid v Rizwan; Hasan Ahmed v Mubashir; Mustafa Jamal v Sher Rehman; Matin Arif v Changez.

The top four seeded players Haris Illifat, Amir Ali Khan, Javad Gardezi and Nasir Mushtaq have drawn byes.
