LONDON, Sept 23: A player with English county Warwickshire is to appear before an ECB disciplinary panel on Monday after failing a random drugs test.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) would not confirm the identity of the player, named by The Daily Telegraph as 21-year-old England 'A' all-rounder Graham Wagg.
The Telegraph said a recreational drug was involved, rather than a performance-enhancing substance. If found guilty, the player faces a lengthy ban along the lines of the 18-month suspension handed to former Test fast bowler Ed Giddins, who tested positive for cocaine in 1996.
