KARACHI: Floral exhibition opens

KARACHI, Sept 21: An three-day exhibition of imported dry flowers and flower arrangements was inaugurated by the Provincial Minister, Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, at a local hotel on Tuesday.

According to the organizer, Lal Majid, the distinctive feature of the flower arrangements was that, made from purely natural material, their beauty could be retained for a long time.

She pointed out that a flower arrangement lent enchantment and beauty to any home, office or event. "However, as natural flowers fade away, the arrangement has to be replaced very often."

An alternative was to use artificial flowers made of silk and other artificial fibre, but these decorations lacked naturalness and allure, he said.

Lal Majid said that now floral design, a leading exponent of floral art, had found a solution, adding the flower arrangements were made from natural dried material which expressed natural beauty. She said that another aspect was the use of exotic urns that enhanced not only the floral design but also the atmosphere around it. - APP
