India retain German coach

NEW DELHI, Sept 17: German Gerhard Rach, who was India's chief coach in Athens Olympics will continue in the same post during tour of Pakistan.

Rach, who had returned to Germany after India's seventh place finish in the Olympics, is expected to reach New Delhi Saturday before heading to Chandigarh where probables for Pakistan series are training under supervision of assistant coach Jagbir Singh.

"Rach would continue in his position and would be chief coach during Pakistan tour," an IHF official said in New Delhi.

An 18-member Indian team for four-match Test series, starting at Karachi on Sept 24. He said defender William Xalco, who suffered a finger fracture in Athens, has recovered fully and is available for selection. -PPI
