HUNZA, Sept 16: The chief of the Pakistan Muslim League's election cell for the Northern Areas Legislative Council, Senator Nisar A. Memon, has said that the management of the Karakoram International University has been instructed to establish job-oriented faculties, so that its students could get employment in the private sector.

Talking to a delegation of the Hunza Graduates' Association, he said the subject of tourism was being introduced at the university. He said the educated youth should seek jobs in the private sector and the government would encourage those who wanted to become entrepreneurs.

He said rare herbs were found in abundance in the region and those should be explored to earn money. He announced that Rs5,000 would be given to those students who conducted research from a business point of view.

He said steps were being taken to separate the quota for the Northern Areas from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. He said the president was taking interest in the development of the area.

He said efforts were being made to streamline the quota system for the students of the region in the professional colleges of the country. A youth wing of the PML has been formed here.

Senator Memon instructed the members of the wing, who called on him, to nominate one of their companions as the coordinator for the election. He asked people to vote for the PML candidates.-APP
