Haryana CM due today

LAHORE, Sept 9: Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala will arrive here on Friday morning with a 50-member delegation for a four-day visit to the province on the invitation of the World Punjabi Congress.

WPC Chairman Fakhar Zaman and congress members will receive the visiting chief minister and his delegation, including seven ministers, four MLAs, two MPAs, judges and journalists, at the Wagah border.

Om Prakash will visit the residence of Fakhar Zaman for condoling the death of his wife after arrival and will be the chief guest at a seminar on Culture, Literature and Peace at the Alhamra Art Centre in the afternoon.

Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi has been requested to preside over the seminar. He will also host a dinner in honour of Om Prakash. Om Prakash will call on a Hindu sage at Sohdara near Wazirabad on Sept 11. He will visit the Ranjit Singh Samadhi, Lahore Fort and museum on return.

The World Punjabi Congress will host a dinner in his honour in the evening. The Indian dignitary will visit the shrine of immortal Punjabi poet Waris Shah at Jandiala Sher Khan in Sheikhupura district on Sept 12 where he would hear excerpts from heer by five famous folk singers and attend a reception to be hosted in his honour by the Punjab Bar Council.

He will visit Guru Nanak's birthplace Nankana Sahib in the evening and witness a grand cultural programme organized in his honour by the Punjab Arts Council and the Lahore Arts Council jointly at the Alhamra Art Centre at night. Shri Om Prakash will address a press conference at the State Guest House at 10am on Sept 13 and return to India via Wagah later on.
