KARACHI, Sept 9: Federal Information Minister, Shaikh Rashid Ahmed on Thursday described the business community as the backbone of the economy, and added, future of the nation depends on the achievements of business.

Addressing members of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce (FPCCI) during a luncheon meeting, he urged the business community to take decisions based on strong vision.

Shaikh Rashid said the nation is lucky to have an economist as its premier who will transform the economy into the one, capable of meeting the challenges. Whether it is a foreign or a defence policy or the political stability, all depends on the economy, the minister asserted.

However, he said, the big challenge for the government is to create employment opportunities to which private sector would be a major contributor. "The government alone could not do all." he said.

He suggested the FPCCI to set up its own TV channel to create awareness in the business community and suggest ideas and identify right avenues for secure investments. -APP
