Warm-up ties for Jr team

KARACHI, Sept 7: Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) is considering holding warm-up matches during Champions Trophy between the visiting teams and the national junior team.

According to a spokesman for PHF on Tuesday there were not much activities for the junior hockey team this year so PHF decided to hold warm-up matches between its junior team and the visiting teams.

He said that PHF would ask the visiting teams that if they like they could play warm-up matches with Pakistan junior team. PHF spokesman said that in a bid to start the preparations of junior team for next year Junior World Cup to be held in August at Amstelveen, Holland this idea would be beneficial.

A series with India would also be organized for the Pakistan junior team in February next year as well as a six-nation junior tournament to be held at Lahore in March. -PPI
