ISLAMABAD, Sep 7: Privatization and Investment Minister Dr Hafeez Shaikh said on Tuesday Pakistan had become safe haven for the investors in the region. "During the past four years, FDI indicator was going up while this year it will cross the last year's figure of $950m," Dr Hafeez told a delegation of Telenor led by its President and CEO Tore Johsen, who called on him here.

The minister said all-out efforts were being made to ensure maximum comfort with attractive incentives for both local and foreign investors and level-playing field was being provided to all prospective players in all sectors.

The leader of the delegation informed the minister that Telenor's Pakistani company would launch a world-class mobile service platform, including multimedia services by April 1, 2005 at its headquarters in Islamabad and regional offices in Karachi and Lahore. -APP
