QUETTA, Sept 6: The alliance of four Baloch nationalist parties has decided to requisition a provincial assembly session to discuss law and order situation, government excesses, state terrorism and extra-judicial killings of the people in the province.

Giving details of the decision taken at a meeting of the alliance held on Sunday, Dr Hayee Baloch, Chief of the National Party, told newsmen that five committees had been formed to draw a future line of action for nationalists.

He said although government representatives had contacted Nawab Akbar Bugti and Sardar Ataullah Mengal in Dera Bugti and Karachi, respectively, on issues relating to the province, continuing excesses by agencies were creating suspicions.

He asserted that the Baloch leadership was clear on the rights of the Balochistan people. It wanted the division of power between the federation and federating units so that the provinces had powers to control their resources, he said.

He claimed that police had surrounded the residence of Nawab Marri in Quetta and harassing his employees while in Dera Bugti, government forces were committing inhuman acts with tribesmen. He further said that two people of the Mengal tribe were killed in Wadh by security forces and political activists were tortured in custody of law-enforcement agencies.
