BANNU, Aug 30: Three children and two women of an Afghan family were injured when five missiles were fired on Bannu cantonment and city areas on Sunday night.

One of the missiles hit the office of an intelligence agency inthe cantonment area, while another damaged a Pakistan Telecommunication Company tower.

The family members of Haji Nawab Khan, an Afghan refugee, were sleeping when a missile hit their house in the Sokari Zabta Khan locality. Nawab Khan's wife Gul Jamala, children Naqeebullah, Shamsur Rehman and Shaima, and Shafiqa, wife of Ghanum, were injured.

Another missile hit the house of Shah Hussain Wazir near GHS No3 and damaged it. Another missile hit the house of the executive district officer, finance, Faridullah Khan, in the Nawab Khan area and caused minor damage. The missiles had been fired from the Kurram river side.
