PESHAWAR, Aug 29: NWFP minister for health Inayatullah Khan has stressed the need for improving healthcare facilities in remote areas and called for equipping tehsil-level hospitals with adequate equipment.

He was talking to a group of Jamaat-i-Islami leaders from Lower Dir district that was led by Raffiullah Jan, a JI leader from the Samerbagh tehsil. Health Minister assured them that proper health facilities would be provided in tehsil hospitals in Sammarbagh, Jandool and other areas of the Lower Dir district.

He said that dereliction of duty would not be tolerated and strong action would be taken against district health officer in case of any complaint.

"We are committed to streamline and improve the performance of hospital staff." Inayatullah assured the visiting JI leaders that shortage of doctors and paramedical staff in tehsil-level hospitals would be overcome. -APP
