ATHENS, Aug 27: Robert Korzeniowski of Poland bowed out of top international competition on Friday as a walking legend after he captured his fourth Olympic title and third successive 50 kilometre walk crown.

Sadly for the 36-year-old, his final big moment was witnessed by just over a couple of hundred spectators but he was to later return for the medals ceremony where 70,000 people bade him a fond farewell.

"It was the title that I wanted the most and dreamt about the most," added the Pole. -Reuters
