HYDERABAD, Aug 27: The district food authorities, under the instructions of the Sindh government, have procured wheat from Punjab through the Pakistan Agriculture Storage and Services Corporation.

The district was running short of wheat as less allocations for chakki owners had been reduced. Some 150,000 wheat bags had been procured from Punjab's Vehari and Alipur zones.

So far 106,000 wheat bags were transported to Hyderabad and some 20,000 were sent to Karachi. The district was now required to procure 24,000 bags from Punjab. District food controller Mushtaq Memon said that assistant food controller Hasib-ur-Rehman was suspended after some bags of wheat transported from Punjab were found wet.

The driver of the transport company told the DFC that their representative loaded the wheat during rains. Mr Memon said with the procurement of 106,000 bags from Punjab now the total stock of wheat stood at 250,000 bags.

RESULT: The controller of examinations, University of Sindh, on Thursday announced the results of various disciplines for semester examination 2003. These disciplines include BA (hons) part-I (new batch) part-I (noon batch), part-II economics (noon batch) of economics and BS part-I (regular).
