ISLAMABAD, Aug 20: The National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) is operating special Haj counters at its swift registration centres to facilitate intending pilgrims in issuance of their computerized national identity cards.

According to a press release, it has been observed that most of the intending pilgrims have already obtained their CNICs, leaving a small number of intending Hajis who are still without CNICs.

A total of 14,313 applications were received from intending Hajis for issuance of CNICs, out of which 14,174 CNICs had been issued while the remaining 139 applications were under process and the identity cards would be provided to the applicants shortly.

Nadra has made special arrangements to ensure that all Hajis are issued CNICs by August 25, the due date announced by Ministry of Religious Affairs for submission of the CNICs.
