KARACHI, Aug 20: Two youths drowned at Sandspit on Friday evening. Officials of the Hawkesbay Rescue Centre said that Amir and Mansoor had come to the beach on Friday evening. They were swept away by strong currents at around six in the evening.

Their bodies could not be recovered from sea, officials of the rescue centre said, adding that renewed efforts to recover their bodies would be made on Saturday morning. The young men had came from Shershah area.

STOLEN: A sizable quantity of arms belonging to a private security agency were stolen from the godown of distribution company in F.B. Area on Thursday night. Police said that manager of the private security agency came to Samnabad police station stating that 13 pistols, a revolver, one 7mm rifle, and a 12 bore rifle had been stolen from the godown by unknown persons.

SHO Ghulam Fareed of Samnabad police station told Dawn that the IBL distribution company had hired the services of the said security agency. The security guards of the company are said to deposit their arms in the company's compound before leaving for home.

KILLED: An expatriate was found unconscious at the airport early Friday morning. He was later pronounced dead on arrival at the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre.

Police said Inayat Ali, 27, had come from Saudi Arabia and was supposedly heading for his home town of Okara when some persons offered him something to eat. The unknown suspects escaped from the airport with his baggage. The body was sent to Edhi morgue following post-mortem examination.

BODY FOUND: A decomposed body of a young man was recovered from Ibrahim Hyderi early Friday morning. Police said the victim had torture marks on his body. The body was sent to the JPMC for autopsy examination.

ACCIDENT: A young man died in a road accident in Garden West on Friday. Police said Mohammad Irfan, 27, was on motorcycle when a speeding vehicle knocked him down. He was rushed to the Civil Hospital where he died during treatment.

ARRESTED: The police on Friday arrested a young man with arms from Quaidabad. The suspect was identified as Paras, 20. A TT pistol and two rifles were recovered from his possession.
