PM grants Rs10m for complex

ISLAMABAD, Aug 10: Prime Minister Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday announced a grant of Rs 10 million for the construction of the Pakistan Tennis Complex in Islamabad as he laid its foundation stone.

The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) hosted a grand ceremony to mark the occasion which was attended by a large number of people. The PTF president Syed Dilawar Abbas speaking on the occasion said that his federation was in dire need of money to complete the project.

With the grant announced by the Prime Minister and the sum of Rs 5 million donated by the Punjab Chief Minister already in its kitty, the PTF hopes to have the first phase completed with the money.

In the first phase of the complex spread over almost 10 acres, seven courts including two centre courts, two lounges and changing rooms will be built and players hostel extended.
