OKARA, Aug 10: Police have booked 46 people, including two lawyers, for blocking road and staging a protest demonstration against the alleged murder of Anwar Lagoo by A-Davison police.

Reports said B-Division police registered a case against the protesters under Sections 341, 148, 149 of the PPC. Those booked were identified as Chaudhry Asghar Bhutta and Rai Muhammad Ibrahim advocates, deceased's father Khushi Muhammad, mother Rehmat Bibi, Rangoo, Mudassar, Arshad Afzal, Rafique, Razzaq, Shafique, Imran, Mehmood and a woman, Sahiba.

As many as 30 people had not been identified in the case. The accused had blocked GT Road and Faisalabad Road against the murder of drug pusher Anwar Lagoo by the police.

ACCIDENT: A rickshaw driver was killed while two women sustained injuries in a bus-rickshaw collision here on Tuesday on Renala by-pass. Reports said the motorcycle-rickshaw (OKB-4652) was going to Renala town. Near the by-pass, a speeding bus (LXD-1482) struck against the three-wheeler, resulting in the death of Asif Ali.

ARRESTED: Police claimed on Tuesday to have arrested Rehan, Atif, Akhtar Shah and Inayat with illicit weapons and registered a case while their one accomplice Tariq Pasha managed his escape.
