PESHAWAR, Aug 10: A doctor and his son died while six others of the same family were injured after their vehicle collided with a passenger bus near Kund on the Grand Trunk Road here on Sunday night.

Dr Sarfaraz, director of a health project for refugees, was on his way to Peshawar along with his family in a double-cabin pick-up truck (NWFP A-3811). Dr Sarfaraz and his 12-year-old son, Yasir, died in the accident while his wife, Amna, sons Ilyas, 17, Ammad, 15, and Salman, 10, and daughters Hajra, 16, and Saeeda Bano, 7, were injured.

The injured were shifted to hospital, where their condition is stated to be critical. Dr Sarfaraz belonged to Tank district. Eyewitnesses said that bodies of the deceased and the injured were recovered from the pick-up after about two hours. The accident occurred in heavy rain allegedly due to the wrong overtaking by the bus driver.
