PESHAWAR, Aug 6: IG police Riffat Pasha has issued transfer orders of AIG CID Sajid Khan and four other police officers, official sources told Dawn on Friday.

Assistant Inspector General of the Crimes Investigation Department Sajid Ali has been transferred and posted as District Police Officer in Mansehra.

Mr Sajid is the third officer transferred since an investigation was started into a case of smuggling involving Zahir Khan alias Malangay who had been arrested along with his 12 accomplices on May 24, by the CID.

According to the sources, IGP Riffat Pasha and Chief Secretary Ijaz Qureshi rushed to Nathiagali on Thursday where they requested Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani to approve the transfer orders.

DPO Mansehra Captain (retd) Ehsan Tufail has been posted as AIG CID in place of Sajid Khan. SP Investigations Charsadda Mohammad Yamin Khan has been transferred and posted as DPO Batagram in place of Raja Naseer, who has been posted as DPO Haripur. SP Haripur Abdullah has been directed to take charge of SP security in Special Branch.
