DHAKA, Aug 3: The government of Bangladesh has decided to create a security bulwark across the country before the next SAARC summit in Dhaka in view of regional and international security concerns.

This was resolved on Monday at the first meeting of the security committee on the 13th SAARC summit scheduled for January 9-11 next year. The meeting, chaired by committee convener and state minister for home Lutfozzaman Babar, also constituted four sub-committees to ensure full-proof security measures for the dignitaries.

"We've directed the law enforcing agencies to improve law and order across the country and strengthen security arrangement in Dhaka," Babar said. Asked if the government preparations are because of security threat, especially along the border, he said: "We'll take preparations considering all aspects and we hope to make it an effective security system for our distinguished guests."
