Troops leave for China

ISLAMABAD, Aug 1: Pakistan Army troops have left for China to participate in the first-ever joint military exercise between the two countries, to begin from Wednesday (August 4).

The high-altitude exercises at 4,000 metres between China's Peoples Liberation Army and the Pakistan Army would be held in Xinjiang Uygur region of north-west China, bordering Tajikistan, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Though the officials did not disclose the number of troops involved in the exercise, it was learnt that both sides would test operational capabilities of latest advanced weapons during the exercise.
