HYDERABAD, Aug 1: The Sindh National Council has strongly criticized the military operation launched in Makran, saying the government itself is responsible for lawlessness and sabotage acts in the country.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, leaders of the council, Punhal Sario, Chacha Mohammad Ali Laghari and Akram Soomro, said the army operation was no solution to problems because fundamental human rights of people were being violated.

They said there could be no development without the consent and cooperation of people. They demanded that the use of force against the people of Balochistan should be immediately stopped.

PROCESSION: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz took out a procession and staged a sit-in here to protest against the murder of a JSQM activist, Gul Bhatti.

Speaking to the protesters, JSQM district chief organizer Chacha Qasim Soomro demanded that accused Dr Mazhar Memon and Jan Mohammad Junejo should be arrested immediately.
