ISLAMABAD, July 27: The Senate committee on government assurances reviewed the implementation status of various assurances given on the floor of the House from time to time.

The committee meeting, which was presided over by Chaudhry Muhammad Anwar Bhinder while reviewing the implementation status of an assurances given on a point of order raised by the Senator regarding the payment of one-month salary as an honorarium to police officials, who had performed duties during the Saarc conference was informed that all the federal government employees, including police officials, had been paid the honorarium equivalent to one month salary.

During consideration of the assurance regarding initiating developmental works and allotment of plots to the members in National Police Foundation Housing Scheme in Mohaf Town No.2, Lahore.

It was informed that the developmental work could not be initiated in National Police Foundation Housing Scheme due to non-payment of development charges by the members. However, the situation has improved after the payment of outstanding dues by Pakistan Rangers.

The committee was informed that the development work had now started. The committee directed the society to submit a detailed feasibility report of the scheme carrying all the relevant details. The committee decided to take up the issue again in its next meeting.

The committee was informed that presently 118 posts, mostly those of section officers in grades 17 and 18 were vacant as the officers could not be promoted as they did not possess the required length of service.

It said 27 officers shall complete the said requirement by September this year. Apart from that, some 50-60 posts will be filled in through departmental promotion examination, conducted by the FPSC.
