PESHAWAR, July 27: The Education Testing and Evaluation Authority on Tuesday decided to hold entrance tests for government professional institutions simultaneously in Peshawar and Abbottabad.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the authority's board of governors, presided over by NWFP Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah. The meeting decided to conduct entrance test for admission to the NWFP University of Engineering and Technology on Aug 10.

The test for admission to medical colleges would be held on Aug 15. It also decided not to change the dates of the tests. The tests will be held at the Islamia College, Peshawar, and the Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad.

The meeting considered the suggestions forwarded by the provincial assembly's standing committee and allowed the authority to conduct re-totalling of marks in case of contest by a candidate.
