Rashid leaves for China

ISLAMABAD, July 25: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, heading a 12-member media delegation, left here for Beijing on Sunday night.

The delegation, at the Islamabad International Airport was seen off by Charge'd Affair of Chinese Embassy Song Deheng, besides senior officers of the ministry of information and broadcasting.

Prior to his departure, talking to reporters, Mr Ahmed said that Pakistan and China enjoy all-weather, time-tested and deep rooted friendship and their visit will help further these bonds.

He said that China and Pakistan enjoy close cooperation in transfer of technology in different sectors which is a milestone in the progress of the country. He said Pakistan was acquiring 13 FM transmitters from China while the deal for another 10 transmitters would also be finalized soon.

Giving the details of his visit, Sheikh Rashid said, during their week-long stay in China, he would meet various senior officials of China including foreign minister and information minister.
