MIANWALI, July 18: An unidentified 'passenger' shot at and injured the conductor of a coach for demanding fare and looted cash from a car driver after hijacking the vehicle here on Sunday at Nagni Link Road, the notorious route for highway crime.

Reports said the passenger boarded the Mianwali-bound coach (SGF-9891) at Wan Bhachran stop, some 25 kilometres from here. On demanding fare by Muhammad Imran, he open fire on him as a result the conductor sustained injuries.

At Dera Choudhrianwala, the passenger alighted from the bus, snatched a car (IDD-2306) at gunpoint and asked the driver to go towards the Nagni Link Road. When the vehicle ran short of fuel at Chidro, he robbed the driver of Rs700 and went away by foot.

Police on the complaints of the car driver and the conductor have registered a case under Sections 324 and 329 of the Cr.PC. The conductor has been admitted to the DHQ Hospital.
