Anti-polio drive concludes

ISLAMABAD, July 15: About 35 million children under five years of age were given anti-polio drops all over the country and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), Northern Areas and Azad Kashmir during the three-day nation wide campaign.

In the capital and its suburbs, more than 50,000 children were given anti-polio drops. About 180 mobile teams of health department went door to door in the remote rural areas as well as in different sectors, model towns and kutchi abadies to administered the polio drops.

In Sindh, about 7.8 million children were given anti-polio vaccine. According to the Sindh EPI programme sources, polio teams actively participated in the campaign and reached the children under five in all cities of Sindh including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkar, Thatta, Badin and all big and small towns, including talukas to give anti-polio vaccines to the children. -APP
