ISLAMABAD, July 9: A trio of senators have requested the chairman of the Standing Committee on Sports, Culture and Women Affairs to convene a meeting to discuss the affairs of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).

The requisition was made on Friday by senators Muhammad Enver Baig, Sayed Murad Ali Shah and Dr. Kouser Firdaus. The three want senator Zafar Iqbal Chaudhry, the head of the standing committee, to convene the meeting this month as a follow-up to the one held in late May.

In that meeting, Shahryar M. Khan, the chairman of PCB and Chief Executive Ramiz Raja were grilled for nearly three hours over matters relating to running of the board and the series defeat to India. The PCB officials had been asked to send in all their explanations to the committee in writing.
