KHAIRPUR: Five women assaulted

KHAIRPUR, July 9: Some armed men allegedly assaulted five nomadic women in their straw huts near Warayo village, Ahmedpur town on Thursday night. The armed men barged in huts of Baghari community and criminally assaulted Ratni, Karshima, Bhagbhari, Dharami and Laxashmi.

However, police did not confirm the incident. Villagers said that the gypsy family migrated from the area following the incident.

HUNGER STRIKE: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz observed a hunger strike here on Friday, led by JSQM district leader Amjad Ali Mahessar and Sukkur division coordinator Abdul Rehman Jatoi. Speaking to the strikers, Mr Mahessar demanded that cases registered against Basheer Qureshi and other party activists should be withdrawn.

ARRESTED: Five robbers were arrested in Chondiko town, Nara taluka on Thursday night. The Sorah police identified them as Pardip Kumar, Santosh Kumar, Anil Meghwar and Khaliq Jamali.
