BAHAWALPUR, July 7: The gas supply was restored to the Punjab cities after repair of the pipeline on Wednesday. Reports said one of the three pipelines was repaired by the SNGPL engineers after 24-hour long work. The gas supply was restored to Multan, Kakirwala, Faisalabad and Kot Addu.

Meanwhile, the cause of the blast could not be ascertained as no explosives were recovered from the spot. Two teams of the Uch Sharif police are already investigating the case.

WHEAT SEIZED: Over 73,000 wheat bags worth about Rs70 million were recovered from a flour mills at Mubarakpur here on Wednesday. District Food Controller Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor said the godown of the Najaf Cotton Factory was raided after the owners' court stay period expired.

He said when the officials were loading the hoarded wheat on trolleys, the factory owners with the help of several people attacked the raiding team and held it hostage. Later, the food department officials were released.
