ASF awards for Farhan, Mansoor

ISLAMABAD, July 1: The Asian Squash Federation (ASF) has awarded "Hassan Musa Award for outstanding junior boy" to Farhana Mehboob and "Alex Lee award for outstanding player" to Mansoor Zaman.

The decision has been taken in the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Asian Squash Federation held at Kuala Lumpur on June 25. Mr. Ramachandran President Asian Squash Federation presided over the meeting.

Farhan from Peshawar had won Gold Medal in the Individual Event at 11th Asian Junior Championship 2003 at Islamabad. He also won silver medal at British Junior Championship 2004 in England.

"In recognition of his outstanding performance, ASF awarded the Hassan Musa Award to Mr Farhan Mehboob", says a Pakistan Squash Federation (PSF) press release on Thursday.

For Alex Lee award PSF recommended the name of Mansoor Zaman. Mansoor had won gold medal in 9th SAF Games. Earlier he reached the finals of individual event at Asian Senior 2004 and lost to Ong Beng Hee. -PPI
