ISLAMABAD, July 1: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference, AJK and Pakistan Chapter, has condemned the recent statement of Indian Defence Minister Pranab Mukerjee in which he ruled out the repeal of tough anti-terror laws and reduction in troops in Occupied Kashmir.

According to a press release, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (J&K) in a meeting on Thursday presided over by the Convenor Farooq Rehmani, noted that while on the one hand India talked about peace and stability in the region, on the other it continued human rights violations in the Occupied Kashmir thereby damaging the whole peace process.

He said peace process could succeed only when it was built on some pragmatic principles and that could be ensured only if India took the kind of steps that at least kindled a ray of hope among Kashmiris.

Talking about LoC fencing, the APHC convenor maintained that fencing and boundaries could not stop Kashmiris from across the border movement. Talking about the Pakistan-India peace talks, Mr Rehmani said that Kashmiris were not against the peace moves by India and Pakistan.
