MARDAN, June 23: District Development Committee (DDC) Mardan on Wednesday approved Rs 12.25 million for developmental works, including power to different provincial constituencies and maintenance of roads in Sheikh Maltoon Town under the Tameer Sarhad Programme.

The meeting was held at the office of the District Coordination Officer (DCO) Mardan Syed Khan Orakzai which was attended by Ilyas Toru EDO Finance, Akhtar Ali EDO Works and Services, Project Director MDA Iftikhar Khan, Deputy Director Saiful Islam and TMA officer Abdur Rashid Khan.

The meeting approved 14 different schemes including paving and repair of streets, drainage system, construction of roads, provision of electricity, which were sent by Abdul Akbar Khan MPA, Amanat Shah MPA, Israrul Haque MPA, Tajul Amin Jabbal MPA and Naeema Akhtar.

The meeting also decided on the construction and repair of roads inside Shaikh Maltoon Town and approved the construction of a market in the second phase for which Rs 3.33 million was set aside. Approval for the utilisation of funds would be obtained from the governing body of the MDA.

While addressing the meeting, DCO Orakzai stressed that the construction of works under TSP must be ensured within the given time limit and negligence would not be tolerated.
