KARACHI, May 21: The British Council has suspend its public services throughout the country for an indefinite period.

A press release on Tuesday said that the public services had been suspended temporarily as the BC offices were undergoing a security upgrade. The offices are expected to reopen as soon as the new arrangements are in place, added the press release, with the mention that alternative public access points had been set up to facilitate customers.

It was further said that GCE O-A level examinations and IELTS tests would take place as scheduled. The council asked its library members in possession of borrowed material (books, videos) to retain these for safekeeping and return them to the library when it reopens, without any late fine.

Enquiries on studying in the UK can be made on the contacts announced by the BC, or with commercial students advisory organisations, details of whom are available on the website: wwww.britishcouncil.org.pk under ‘Education.’

General inquiries about examinations, attestations of documents could be made by visiting Regent Plaza, Sharea Faisal, from 10.00am to 3.00pm (Monday to Friday), on 0303-7294591 (9am to 4pm), or from bc.karachi@britishcouncil.org.pk., added the press release.
