KARACHI, May 31: The local shoora of Jamaat-i-Islami on Monday accused the United States and its agents of involvement in the killing of Mufti Nizamuddin Shamzai and bomb blasts.

At a meeting, chaired by the JI's city chief, Dr Mairajul Huda, the shoora noted that the bomb blasts and killings in the city were part of the conspiracy to blackmail the government for its ulterior objectives.

It resolved to frustrate the conspiracy prior to which the local US agents had obstructed development work and implementation of various projects in the metropolis. The shoora deplored that the government was conceding to the agents' pressure for prolonging its exploitative rule.

It was of the view that lawlessness, killings and bomb blasts served as oxygen for the anti-people elements. The meeting also demanded that the elements within the government who, it claimed, were responsible for terrorism in the province be removed.

Meanwhile, MMA legislators have reiterated their demanded for the removal of Sindh governor, CM's adviser on home affairs and the CCPO for their failure in controlling law and order.

The MMA had saved the country from another sectarian bloodbath but the conspirators appeared bent upon destroying peace and tranquillity in the city, they alleged.

CONDEMNATION: At an emergency meeting on Monday, the MMA deplored the bomb blast at the Imambargah on M. A. Jinnah Road and accused American agents of plunging the city into another vicious cycle of sectarian violence. Calling for calm and restraint, it urged people not to get provoked by miscreants and enemies of the country and peace.
