SHIKARPUR, May 28: Speakers here at a seminar on the murder of girls Tehmina and Abida Bhutto condemned the killings which were carried out in the name of 'honour'.

The seminar was organized by the Amnesty International Pakistan, Shikarpur chapter, at the Gymkhana on Friday.

Dad Mohammad Bhutto, the father of Abida, was the chief guest, while SP investigation Fida Mastoi presided over the seminar. Mr Bhutto said that Tehmina and Abida were innocent and were shot dead by Rasheed Bhutto and his relatives in their presence and later they took the bodies to some unknown place.

He said that the accused had no legal and moral right to kill these girls when the parents prayed not to kill them. But inspite of this the accused shot dead the girls, saying that they were 'Karis' so they should not be left alive.

The SP investigation informed the participants about the police investigation in the brutal murder of the innocent girls and termed it an act of terrorism.

Medical Superintendent Dr Masood Badvi and lady medical officer Dr Naila Khoso termed the double murder a shameful act. AI secretary-general Iqbal Detho, Dr Wazir Ghunjo, Mian Zafar Alvi and Sabira Soomro spoke on the occasion.
